Change is a Fact of Life
When people say they are too old to change, what they are really saying is that they have not found a good reason to try something new. Each of us changes everyday as a part of growing and gaining in wisdom and knowledge. You are as good as you want to be; embrace where you are and decide if it is time to change. Always keep in mind that there are opportunities/experiences right out your front door that you have not explored. Find them, embrace them and you will be amazed at how fast life can become exciting.
Cary's Story- In 2000 Cary was hospitalized at St. Josephs Women's Hospital while 4 months pregnant. Admitted at 2 pm, by 8pm she suffered kidney, liver, and lung failure - her blood pressure was so low it could not be measure. Given little or no chance of survival, efforts of last resort were used for her to stay alive. We all sat and waited for the inevitable as medicine had no cure, and only she could battle through this. While in that place of not alive and not dead Cary experienced a vision and a meeting that only she can tell. She learned a few things that brought her from the brink and a renewed enthusiasm. She came with something worth hearing. Many thought she would never live - but she did. Others estimated 2 months intensive care followed by months of hospitalization to recover and be discharged; she was in ICU less that a month and discharged after one week in recovery. Slowly she was weaned off kidney dialysis, and after 6 months she was able to pass a physical. Soon after 911 she was recalled to military duty. As a member of Special Operations Command she practices family practice medicine as an ARNP. In 2007 she was named Officer of the Year as a reservist for U.S. Special Operations Command. The miracle of her survival and what she experienced is worth hearing.
